Mutsu City(むつ市)

< Wakinosawa-mura, MutsuCity, Aomori >
The Nihon-zaru of Wakinosawa-mura, or Japanese monkey, native to Japan, is the World's most northernmost wild primate.  This manhole cover also shows a wild boar, which is common in the area.  We encountered several groups of wild monkeys while driving around the Shimokita Peninsula.  My in-laws didn't want to go near the monkeys.  My father-in-law made me promise not to get out of the car when we came upon the groups of monkeys playing/eating in the middle of the road.

<青森県むつ市脇野沢村>
むつ市脇野沢は、野生の猿の生息北限地で知られています。
