< Kawauchi-machi, Mutsu City, Aomori >
Kawauchi-machi Mutsu city is located on the southern side of the Shimokita peninsula in northern Japan, next to Mutsu Bay. Kawauchi-machi is well-known for scallops and fish. The manhole cover shows a stylized map of the Shimokita Peninsula and scallops and flounder. I almost got run over by a car while photographing this manhole cover. My in-laws probably thought I was crazy standing in the road while cars were coming.
