< Tokorozawa City, Saitama >
Tokorazawa is the site of the first airplane flight in Japan in 1911. It was also the location of the first airfield in Japan, part of which can still be seen at the local Tokorozawa Aviation Museum. The manhole cover commemorates the first airplane flight in Japan. I took this photo from my car window as I was stopped at a stoplight. Traffic was very heavy in the area, so that was the safest way to get the photo.
