We traveled to Mt. Yatsugatake with wonderful friends, and when we stopped to look at a map, I hopped out of the car into a downpour to take a photo of this manhole cover. The cover was very wet, so the photo doesn't show a lot of the details clearly. We were on our way to a Japanese unagi (conger eel) restaurant in Kobuchizawa. The eels were so delicious (oishii!). I never liked eating eel until I went to Japan, and found that the chefs there really know how to prepare eel!
