The words "Inakadate" and "Tareyanagi Iseki" are engraved on this manhole cover from Inakadate, just outside Hirosaki. There is a Tareyanagi ruins in Hirosaki city which is paddy ruins in Yayoi period. Many earthenware sculptures, were excavated from the Tareyanagi Iseki. Inakadate is very famous throughout Japan for its rice field art. Giant rice fields are planted with 5 varieties of rice. The rice varieties are planted in elaborate grids to form gigantic representations of famous artworks and famous personalities from throughout history.
