A paving stone insert in front of Hirosaki Station, featuring the three story donjon at Hirosaki Castle and a cherry blossom, or sakura. Hirosaki Castle is one of the most famous castles of Japan and is one of the country's most renown cherry blossom viewing sites. Over 2600 cherry trees dot the castle grounds, and over 1 million people come to the castle every year in late April and early May to picnic under the trees and view the blossoms.
