< Hirosaki City, Aomori >
The Hirosaki area of Aomori is famous for its delicious apples. The city has many Buddhist temples, so the Buddhist Swastika symbol and a large apple are incorporated on many of its manhole covers. Hirosaki is also famous for its castle and cherry blossom (sakura) festival on the castle grounds. The city also holds a Neputa Festival parade with ornate rice paper floats in August, and a snow festival in February.

またこの地方には沢山のお寺があり、仏教の象徴の卍（まんじ）と大きなリンゴがマンホールカバーの蓋に描かれています。
